Hi! Health & Beauty Editor Valeria here — bringing you this month’s skincare hits straight from my beauty shelf. No matter how on-point my skincare routine is, breakouts still love to pop up at the worst times — right before a shoot, a dinner, or honestly, even when I’m doing everything right. Over the years, I’ve learned that having a good spot treatment on hand is non-negotiable. It’s like skincare first aid — targeted, fast-acting, and honestly kind of magical when you find the one.
I might be 24, but when it comes to breakout I am an expert. Let’s just say my teenage years were not the easiest on my face, hence I’ve tried numerous products and natural remedies. Yes, yes, I have tried the tree tea oil, and though it might be helpful in some cases, here are four products that never dissapoint. They each do something a little different, depending on what my skin needs — whether it’s calming, drying, or just speeding things up. And the best part? You can find them all at Aloe Pharm & Beauty pharmacies.

URIAGE Hyséac-SOS Paste
10 out of 10 for oily skin
This one’s my go-to when my skin is feeling oily and angry. The combo of green clay, zinc, and schist extract really helps dry out spots without leaving my skin irritated. Since it is a paste, it has a thick, almost chalky texture that stays in place overnight — I actually like that it looks like it’s doing something. Perfect for cystic spots that need a little detoxing. And yes, it does smell a bit medicinal, but in a reassuring kind of way.
SKIN1004 Tea-Trica Spot Cream
10 out of 10 for sensitive skin
If you have sensitive skin (like I do when I’m stressed or traveling), this is such a calming option. It’s packed with Centella Asiatica extract to soothe irritation, and tea tree oil to fight bacteria without being too harsh. If you are worried about pillow stains, the this one could do the trick for you. The texture is more like a light gel-cream, which absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave any sticky residue. I even use it under makeup when I feel a pimple forming — it doesn’t pill or flake, which is rare for spot treatments.
PHARMACERIS T Spot Treatment Gel
10 out of 10 for hyper-reactive skin
This one feels a little more clinical, and I mean that in the best way. It has salicylic acid to exfoliate deep inside pores, and niacinamide to calm the skin and prevent post-breakout pigmentation. The formula is clear and fast-absorbing, which makes it great for daytime use — especially if you don’t want anyone knowing you’re treating a breakout. It’s also fragrance-free, which is a big plus if your skin reacts easily.
MARIO BADESCU Drying Lotion
10 out of 10 for any skin type
An oldie but a goodie. I believe there is no person who has not seen this little pink bottle at least once in their life. The hype around it years ago is still valid and here is why. The pink sediment you see at the bottom is calamine, which soothes the skin, while sulfur and salicylic acid work together to dry out whiteheads quickly. Just remember: don’t shake the bottle! Dip a cotton swab in, apply directly to the blemish, and leave it overnight. It can feel a little intense on broken skin, but the results are always worth it.
Trust me, having even one of them in your beauty kit makes a difference when breakouts try to mess with your day.
See you next month with more HITS — skincare you’ll actually want to use.
